The mission of InterAmerican Medical University (IMU) is to provide excellence in medical education for aspiring health professionals.

IMU fulfills its mission by teaching curriculum that is patterned after rigorous academic and clinical standards.

IMU’s curriculum includes two years of didactic basic science courses followed by two years of clinical rotations.  Students are required to participate in patient care through Bethesda Medical Centre during their first two years of medical school.

A natural outcome of IMU's mission is the delivery of high-quality medical care to the population of northern Belize.
