InterAmerican Medical University's curriculum includes two years of didactic basic science courses followed by two years of clinical rotations.  Students are required to participate in patient care through Bethesda Medical Centre during their first two years of medical school.  IMU has three trimesters per year, with a total of 12 trimesters required for graduation.

During the didactic years (Trimesters 1-6), classes begin in January, April, and September. Students are offered rolling enrollments and may begin their education at the beginning of any trimester.

Clinical rotations run continuously throughout years 3 and 4 (Trimesters 7-12).  These rotations will be arranged under the direction of IMU’s Clinical Dean and include general surgery, internal medicine, family medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, psychiatry, emergency medicine, neurology, and electives.
